Successful Adoption author Natalie Nichols Gillespie and her husband Adam, 11-year-old son Joshua, and adopted daughter Amberlie Joy recently made the trip to Washington, D.C., for Natalie to receive the Congressional Coalition on Adoption 2006 Angel in Adoption Award. Natalie was chosen for the award by Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (R-FL), who presented Natalie and Amberlie with the award in Washington. The family also enjoyed participating in the Angel in Adoption Gala, where they met national Angel and adoptee Darryl McDaniels, known for his work as DMC with the classic hip hop group Run DMC. Natalie also spent time with award-winning singer Mark Schultz, who performed his new song “Everything to Me,” a song he wrote about his birthmother. Schultz shared his own adoption story in Successful Adoption.
